Charna / Churna / Chilney / Cheerno.

Isoletta disabitata, oggi famosa per gli sport acquatici e usata anche come poligono di tiro dalla marina pakistana.

Il “Gazetteer of the Countries Adjacent to India North-West” del 1884 rimanda alla voce Chilney dove dice: “a small island at the western extremity ot the coast of Sinde, is four miles north-west or Cape Monze, or Ras Mooarree. The intervening channel has, for about a quarter of a mile, a depth of six or seven fathoms. This island is of a white colour, rocky, completely barren, destitute of water, and uninhabited. Lat. 24° 51’, long. 66° 34’.” (Un po’ spostate rispetto a quelle di GoogleMaps che usa il sistema WGS84.)

Nel 2010 il “Gazetteer of the Countries Adjacent to India North West” è stato ristampato dalla British Library ed è ora facilmente acquistabile anche su Amazon.
