Castle Brown, above, still illuminated by the sun, seen from the pier Umberto I (Portofino). The first documentation of today's structure - once called the Castello di San Giorgio - date back to 1425, when the Republic of Genoa turn it to become military standpoint, due to its convenient position over the bay.
