Silk Road - Bactra
Bactra was the capital of Bactria or Takharistan. Here Alessandro imprisoned and then married Rossana in 327 BC. Zoroastre was born here. Sacked by Genghis Kan in 1220 and then by Tamerlane in the 14th century, but despite all this Marco Polo was able to describe it as a great and noble city. Place of birth of the mystic and poet Djalal el Din Rumi (1207-1273).
