A male lion at Maasai Mara. According to a recent esimate lions in Mara Region are aprox one thousand. Although the killing of a lion was part of the Masai culture that marked the transition from childhood to adulthood, nowadays there is a widespread awareness for the conservation of the habitat as a fundamental resource of the country. © L'immagine è di Graham Dean.
