Namanga's economy is largely dependent on tourism since travelers visiting Amboseli National Park pass though the town on their way to and from Nairobi. The town is perfect as a rest or for restocking supplies. During their stops, tourists are often approached by Maasai women selling beaded jewelry and other Maasai handicrafts.
